ABOUT US
Maggie's Helping Hand is a registered wholly non-profit organization founded by Madeleine Thorning in 2013. The pimarily purpose of the organizaton is to give more children in Ghana the opportunity to get an education. Eduction might be a matter of course in some countries but there are places where not even food is to take for granted. Significant changes can be made with the smallest means. Maggie's Helping Hand believes education is the most effective way to accomplish a sustainable change for the people in Ghana. Our ambition is to make more peolpe self-supporting.
The source of inspiration
"The inspiration for establishing this organization comes from Maggie. Maggie is a 4 year old girl who lives with her parents and five siblings in a village, Boamang, outside of Kumasi in Ghana. I met her in Boamang 18th February, 2013. It was my first visit to Ghana and my first day in Boamang. I was watching the kids play soccer when Maggie showed up. She looked at me with her big brown curious eyes and decided to sit down right next to me. That was it. From that day she was by my side every day for the rest of my two month stay. She is only 4 years old but still one of the most fascinating and loving friend of mine."
